Brief History
It first appeared way back in 1998 as a completely revised version of Civic LX model, which could be run wholly on CNG. It was released with a compellingly low price tag of just around $4500. In 2001, EPA awarded it as the cleanest burning internal combustion vehicle in the world.
Then in 2006, it had gone through the greatest alteration since its origin, and as a result all models variants of that year were honoured with the best 2006 Motor Trend ‘Car of the Year’ award.
Power-Train Specifications
Initially, it was equipped with a standard 1.6-liter inline 4-cylinder engine that had the ability to pump out decent performance stats. Then in 2001, it was upgraded with a standard 1.7-liter engine, and a standard 1.8-L 4-cylinder engine was added in 2006 during which the model was fully revised.
2011 GX has come equipped with the same 1.8-liter 4-cylinder engine, which has the capability to churn out a maximum of 113 horsepower by running entirely on compressed fuel gas.
